The shoe has a unique heel construction ('rough neck') that provides particularly good support. Add to this the reinforced, shock-absorbing soles and you get a shoe that protects ankles, shins and joints against overload and injuries. In addition to the Dave D shoe, you also have the Dave XD. The difference is that the Dave XD has a wide fit and the Dave D a regular fit.
